WINDSOR CASTLE
- Is the largest inhabited castle in the World and has been home to all
our Monarchs since 1078, when it was first built by William the
Conqueror. Our present Queen is often at Windsor and St. georges Chapel
was hte site for the Royal Wedding of Prince Edward in June 1999. You
will see the magnigicent State Apartments sontaining a fabulous
collection of treasures, including works of Art by Van Dyke, Rembrandt
and Rubens. when the State Apartments are closed we will visit the
equally magnificent State Apartments at Hampton Court. RUNNYMEDE
- We board our coach for the journey across what was once an island. We
shall see where King John was forced to seal the Magna Carta in June
1215. PRIVY GARDENS AT
HAMPTON COURT PALACE - A Golden Tours Exclusive
- Hampton Court lies on the River Thames and is the famous Tudor Palace
built in 1514 by Cardinal Wolsey - after the King the most powerful man
in the kingdom. It is the largest brick built residence in the country
with marvelous traditional gardens laid out in the 17th century. you
will also see the delightful restored Privy Gardens laid out for William
III in 1702. This tour
