STONEHENGE - Is the most important pre-historic monument in the British Isles and has been the subject of countless theories over the yers. You will have a chance to see the famous ancient stones, take photographs and be told something of this extraordinary monument, parts of which date back over 5,000 years. It is still not known whether it was used as a temple or a astronomical calendar.

THE CITY OF BATH - built in a natural amphitheatre of steep hills, with its magnificent Georgian architecture, crescents, terraces and squares, Bath is certainly one of the most distinguished of British cities and in 1987 was voted a World Heratige Site. We'll visit the fascinating hot and cold baths built by the Romans nearly 2000 years ago, at the time considered to be one of the Wonders of the World. There is ample time to explore the excellent shops, see the Abbey and Pulteney Bridge before driving home via the beautiful Avon Valley.

TIME FOR SHOPPING & LUNCH - Your guide will be happy to recommend places to eat and shop.

Leaving Bath for our journey back to London we climb into the hills to the north and have views over Bristol, the largest city in the southwest of England. On clear days one can see the hills of South Wales
